Rémi St-Michel

Rémi St-Michel discovers theatre and cinema at François-Xavier Garneau college in Quebec city. In 2010, he directs his first short film Marshmallow which have a respectable festival run and opens him the doors of the cinema program at the University of Quebec in Montreal. For his final studies project, he co-writes and directs The Deer, which wins many prizes around the globe. Encouraged by this success, he goes on with a new short, Little Brother, that world premieres at the Cannes Critic's Week in 2014. The young man from Beauport as many other projects in his head and is actually writing his first feature film with the help of institutions.

François Jaros

Director François Jaros has directed over a hundred commercials and works across television and music videos. He is also the filmmaker behind Un Canadien errant and Daytona. His latest short film, Toutes des connes, continues its festival run following its selection at the Sundance Film Festival.

Matthew Rankin

MATTHEW RANKIN studied Québec history at McGill University and Université Laval before burrowing into the artistic underclass of his native Winnipeg to become a maker of art films.

Working in video and photo-chemical hybrids of documentary, experimental drama and animated abstraction, Matthew’s films have been the object of both international acclaim and outraged corporate attack. An alumnus of the Sundance Film Festival, Matthew was a 2013 artist-in-residence at the McDowell Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and is the first Winnipegger in film history to be nominated for Québec’s coveted Jutra award. Matthew works in French, English and, increasingly, Esperanto.

Chloé Robichaud

Screenwriter and director, Chloe Robichaud was already at her second participation in Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival with her first feature Sarah Prefers to Run (2013). Her short Herd Leader (2012) had competed for the Palme d’Or the year before. Chloe Robichaud is also the creator of the Feminin / Feminin series, which had a strong international following since its launch in 2014. Then, she presented her films Boundaries (2016) and Days of Happiness (2023), both of which had their world premiere at TIFF. It was also at TIFF that she won Best Canadian Short Film for Delphine (2019), previously launched in Official Competition at the Venice Film Festival. Chloé is also involved in directing successful TV series such as TROP, and more recently Transplant and Law and Order Toronto Criminal Intent.
Chloe Robichaud will present her fourth feature film Two Women, an adaptation of the play by Catherine Léger. The film premiered in the Official competition at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and won the Special Jury Award. The film received multiple nominations for the 2025 Quebec Cinema Gala, including Best Director for Chloe.

Theodore Ushev

Born in Bulgaria, Theodore Ushev is graduted from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. He came to stay in Montreal in 1999, where acheived prolific career as animation filmmaker with films like L’homme qui attendait (2006) et Tzaritza (2006). Based on Georgi Gospodinov’s, his most recent short Blind Vaysha is a metaphor about the importance of living in present moment.

Monia Chokri

Born in Quebec City in 1983, she began her acting career after she completed her studies at Montreal's Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in 2005. She has received notable roles in films directed by Denys Arcand and Anne Émond. In 2010, she got better known thanks to her character in Les Amours imaginaires, directed by Xavier Dolan. An Extraordinary Person is her first short film as a scriptwriter and filmmaker.
