Justine Martin is a screenwriter and director based in Montreal who is a Cinema Graduate from Concordia University. Feminism, environmental awareness, and childhood are themes that inspire her stories. She is currently working on the development of her next fiction film while writing a web series. Oasis is her first documentary.

Vincent René-Lortie
Vincent René-Lortie is a Montreal-based filmmaker whose work consists of several short experimental films and music videos. In recent years, he has been nominated twice for the UK Music Video Awards and the prestigious JUNO Awards. With a focus on dreamlike and surreal narratives, his work crosses the genres of animation, science fiction, and dance film. More recently, Vincent has focused on creating two fictional projects, including the short film Invincible, currently in distribution, and the film The Skin of the Other, which will go into production in 2022.

Filmed 40 years after his disappearance, The Punk of Natashquan is a cinematic investigation that ventures into the mythology of “The Punk”. Drawing on the styles of direct cinema and true crime, blended with archive, this short film blurs the boundaries between reality and legend, creating a portrait of the spirit of The Punk— captivating, complex, and as genre-defying as the man himself.
Nicolas Lachapelle
Nicolas Lachapelle is a journalist, a filmmaker, and the director of many sound documentaries. His works, which explore the relationship to territory through the themes of exile, rootedness, and memory, have been showcased at numerous festivals both in Canada and internationally. In 2022, Nicolas was awarded the Best First Documentary Work prize at the RVCQ. Recently, he received nominations for Best Short Documentary at the Gala Québec Cinéma and the Canadian Screen Awards.

Brick by brick and beam by beam, each action, big or small, shows life. Over the years, it leads us to feel the passage of time, the transformations of its surroundings and its vulnerability in the face of the unstoppable frenzy of our urban growth. The house evolves quietly in the heart of a growing and buzzing city that will eventually bring its end.
